An Evening of Respect – Otis Redding Tribute Concert
September 9, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

Don’t miss a spectacular night at Macon’s Grand Opera House celebrating Otis Redding with country music star Mickey Guyton, Grammy-winning pianist Robert Glasper and rising jazz musician, Middle Georgia’s own Zach Wilson.
Guyton’s single, “Black Like Me,” was named one of the Top 10 songs of 2020 by NPR, Billboard and The Associated Press. In 2021, she and Keith Urban co-hosted the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards and she performed the national anthem at Super Bowl 2022. Her album, Remember Her Name, received a Grammy nomination earlier this year.
Hailing from Houston, Texas, Robert Glasper is a jazz pianist with a knack for mellow, harmonically complex compositions that also reveal a subtle hip-hop influence. In addition to his forward-thinking albums, Double Booked, Black Radio and Black Radio 2 (both of which won Grammys), Covered, Everything’s Beautiful (a tribute to Miles Davis) and Artscience, Glasper played on Kendrick Lamar’s celebrated To Pimp a Butterfly and curated the soundtrack and wrote original music for Don Cheadle’s 2016 Miles Davis biopic.
Zach Wilson began studying classical piano at age five. He became involved with the Otis Redding Foundation in 2011 and has been a leader at its annual music camps ever since. He graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2019 with a major in music performance and concentration in jazz piano and continues to make his own mark on the music scene.
