Robert Lee Coleman

Macon’s elder statesman of the blues, Robert Lee Coleman, will hold court at Grant’s Lounge on Sept. 3, 2022. Coleman began his long career playing first in the band of soul star Percy Sledge and then joined the legendary JB’s, the backing band James Brown formed in 1970. He says, “I think I’m one of the last of my era and my style of playing. I’m going to play until the Good Lord calls me home.”
